The Shining Speakers of Beauty

By Hansel Brown

Time has increased mankind's ability to perceive completely different things. Even the thought of loveliness eventually changed as man started to learn and learn different and distinctive affairs through traditions. Through the years, as man began to button up, snippets of his notion and love for attractiveness were manifested through artwork, clothes, pieces of jewellery, and other things. Every one of these held a tale to tell. These remnants of expressions were quickly passed from father to son, from mother to daughter, and in some cases from master to loyal servant in time.

Nevertheless, loveliness knows zero bounds. These proofs of magnificence go so far as Ancient Egypt, where Nefertiti and Cleopatra each discussed the knowledge of preserving beauty via silver and gold and through gems and crystals. Even the Greeks grasped loveliness very well, for they dressed their gods and goddesses with bracelets, rings, and crowns. And these exemplary representations of splendour were even put to use as instruments to specific purposes. Amulets were intended to guard and crowns were designed to govern. Crosses were built to symbolise the effectiveness of religious beliefs.

As man went ahead to triumph over the planet, natural splendour progressed to a more prominent state. That is, the bracelets and crowns of old times were later on replaced by time itself. Industrialization turned up, hopeful and promising, unraveling a brand new trend. Man started to be mindful of their lives by the clock. Pocket watches soon took over as the brand-new crown of the wealthy and influential. Their status symbols grew for the reason that beauty was later portrayed through rarity and lavishness of the timepiece. Folks received these pocket watches to show that "they are because they can."

Together with industrialization, trains, and high society came the television. The opinion of beauty went from time to charm. Hollywood became the core of positive chances. Women preferred charms, rings, and earrings. Engagement rings became a fad. Businesses in the diamond market greatly increased their sales. Through marketing and advertising, each image of beauty suddenly became available to the public. Pieces of jewellery from here and there were auctioned at quite high prices.

Nonetheless, even with its several masks, beauty stayed influential. Through beauty, man learned to show his adoration. And because of love, men would give and pay anything for such expressions, putting original vintage engagement rings in the fingers of their brides to be.

Unsurprisingly, beauty is and will be forever etched in jewellery and other forms of valued antiques. Is there anything more reassuring than having that bit of history in your hands?
